Engineer – IP Core Networks

INTRODUCTION

Telekom Networks Malawi Plc (TNM) is looking for a suitably qualified person to join our team as a m Engineer – IP CoreNetworks.

Reporting to the Manager PS & IP Core, the IP Core Network Engineer shall be responsible for operations m and maintenance of TNM’s IP network including the Internet gateway.

1. Major Tasks and Responsibilities

Performs switching and routing configurations for end-to-end connectivity of all TNM systems. Performs troubleshooting and resolution of all internet and intranet service faults on IP Core network elements. Conducts regular network maintenance, including health checks & business continuity tests. Develops and implements TNM network security measures to safeguard the network from fraud, attacks, and revenue leakages. Implements own projects and supports all other projects on integration with existing systems. Carries out system upgrades and patch management.

2. Educational and professional Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in electrical & Electronics Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering or bachelor’s degree in IT or any related field. Knowledge of Layer 2 & Layer 3 technologies – design, operations & maintenance. Knowledge of Unix/Linux and Mobile technologies. Knowledge of database management Innovative with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
